    Ie 6

You'll hear answers all over the spectrum on this. I've completely stopped bothering with tweaking for IE6, unless the target audience is someone who still uses it a lot, i.e., old people.

I wnat to design my own templates - where to begin?

It better be cool, I only just discovered this awesomeness. 2 and a half? How do I cash that in? Do I have to wait for you to give your opinion again and just take the nickel?

I wnat to design my own templates - where to begin?

These are the only good advice you've received so far. Thought I'll admit I personally use and prefer it, you don't need Photoshop, especially at the price. You also don't need Dreamweaver. And it really isn't good form to use templates to make templates for sale. Learn to code things from...

How to Choose Web Design Software

This copy and paste post exists for the one sole purpose of the OP spamming his link to his website.

Having problems with some css positioning.. plz help

    Actually, you'll have to still force the li's to display horizontally. There are 2 ways of doing this: Either: #nav li{display:inline;} or #nav li{float:left;}

    IE10 will be HTML5 friendly?

That's what MS said about IE7, 8 and 9. 9 is still missing half the stuff FF and Chrome have been supporting for years. MS needs to face it, IE will always suck and will always be behind everyone else. Why? Because they're still bent on setting standards instead of supporting them.

I just started using Nivo slider. It works really well, and it's easy to use.

There used to be a <nobr> tag, but I think it's long since deprecated.

    Design Critique

Did you read the thread? The OP linked to the client's old site to show the contrast between it an his design. Not to mention, you usually don't just randomly design a website for a fictional cognitive aging lab. And even if that's the case, the takeaway here is that using templates isn't...

You really could just apply this same critique to all of the designs you post here, as they're all the same.

    Dreamweaver vs php

Wow. Lots of love for Dw. Let's snap back to reality. DHD had it right. Xampp is the way to go for local testing. Or you can upload to a server that supports php and test from there.

Can I please get your opinion on a mockup?

I disagree about the background mentioned above. I like it just like it is. I do, however, agree about the second set of navigation. Perhaps because they are the same set of links you could move them to the footer?

    Design Critique

I have even better advice: Completely disregard this advice. Based on the assumption that this for a is a client, what client would be pleased with a designer who simply grabbed someone else's work, claimed it as their own, and charged them for it? People who do lazy crap like that are becoming...

    I hate flash

The flash site did look better, but like he said, he's just trying it out. You're going down the right road here. A couple of things to watch out for: 1. The photo is obviously Photoshopped, if you can, take the time to go out and get a photo that looks right. 2. That div that scrolls won't...

    help critique my personal site

I like the overall design of the site. The large text works well here, and I think the layout flows pretty well. A couple of things I'd like to note: 1. The diagonal lines used for the shadow on the index page's large text makes my eyes hurt. Not to mention, that's the only place where you use...

    My First real website

That is much better. I disagree with DesigNes regarding the social media icons. However, I would not go quite so dark.

    Design Critique

If you're designing for seniors, give this article a read: http://sixrevisions.com/web_design/designing-for-different-age-groups/ I agree with the menu comment. I would also drastically reduce the size of the slideshow and move it to a less prominent position on the page.
