    trouble with flexible height

Start learning how to use divs, and to hand code your sites, that's what you'll need to try to pick up over the summer. The short-run solution is to delete the empty and unnecessary <p></p> at the bottom, which made it work for me in Chrome.

How many designers are using HTML5 and CSS3 currently in their work?

Couldn't agree more here. Need to write an article? <article></article> Need to make a header? <header></header> How about a new section? <section></section>

How many designers are using HTML5 and CSS3 currently in their work?

The way to overcome that problem is with progressive enhancement. The extremely short explanation of which is: build a site that looks good in a browser with no support (basically just use CSS2.1), then add the CSS3 on top of that for the browsers that do. That way, it degrades in a way that...

How many designers are using HTML5 and CSS3 currently in their work?

I'm using CSS3 pretty extensively, but I haven't yet made the jump to HTML5. I have, however downloaded HTML5 Boilerplate just to familiarize myself with it.

    please review my website

Looks really good. I think the menu text is a little small for the space it's in. Same goes for the form field titles.

As well it shouldn't. That's what CSS is for. Spend a little time on w3schools. Specifically the box model, and positioning.

    Doign something wrong with lightbox?

Kindly put your site up somewhere that I can just look at it in the browser. I'd love to help you, but I'm not interested in downloading whatever happens to be in that rar file.

What can be done to improve?

LOL. You want to know how my first paid site went? The client designed it for me, I just coded it. I still like to look back and laugh at that. I learned a lot of good things about working with clients from her, and she keeps coming back for updates. In fact, I better get to work on the changes...

    div column help

    Here's a very basic example of what I think you're trying to do: HTML: <img class="right" src="images/image.png" alt="" /> <img class="right" src="images/image.png" alt="" /> <p>Some text</p> CSS: .right{float:right;} This will cause the images to float to the right and the text to...

Add display:inline to the id #header. In Chrome, that seems to fix it.

Advice on how to update my site more efficiently?

You forgot to post your link, so I can't give you specific advice, but here's a bit of quick, general info. Due to your situation, in which it sounds like you don't have time to learn the best way to do everything right now, here's a quick way to make changes: As long as the new images are the...

Best tool for taking website snapshots?

I use Awesome Screenshot for Chrome. I think there's a FF version as well.

    Critique

Good work here. A few quick things: the color for the current page's link is too light. It's nearly unreadable. The store widgets look a little out of place, probably because of the way they're styled. Are you using images for the rounded corners? If so, they need some anti-aliasing. You need a...

    Are you guys using CSS3?

I use the hell out of it. The trick is to build a site that will degrade well. Make it so the site looks good without it, then sprinkle a little CSS3 magic on top.

    CSS3 Woes

Try using rgba for the border color, and set the "a" to the transparency you want. Here's a quick intro to rgba: http://www.css3.info/introduction-opacity-rgba/ EDIT: Don't forget to set a fallback. Place it before the rgba declaration. I don't see the repeating image issue.

    Does this forum look OK?

Compatibility is the designer's responsibility. Besides, if it looks that way in Safari, chances are it looks that way in Chrome.
