how do you guys like HTML5

I hope you just worded that wrong. Media queries don't change what you load, just how it displays. If you're using them to show different file sizes for videos, you should know that everyone is downloading every version of the file you have, and only seeing the one that is meant for them. That's...

Need feedback on new website concept

Tan woodgrain doesn't look right with the rest of the page being grays and whites. I do like the gray woodgrain. The page peel effect on the slider looks good, but again not with the tan woodgrain. The added "where to find us" is a nice touch, but the footer(?) area looks better in the original...

    Please Review WP Auto Tube

I agree. I don't see the usefulness here, and I do work in WP a lot. As for the site: The slider moves way too fast. I'm no speed reader, but I read pretty fast and I had to back it up 3 times just to read the first frame. I question the need for the comments section on a page like this. At the...

How do i make a users browser launch

Unfortunately, we can't force users to do anything they don't wish to do. Furthermore, it isn't their problem. It's yours. It's up to you to make sure your site works on their browser/OS/device, not the other way around. You could encourage them to download another browser, but again, not their...

    Hide page to show background

http://codepen.io/ronaldroe/pen/nBzwK The button could be literally anything, you'd just have to change it in the jQuery and CSS. Just be careful not to hide the button or whatever with the rest of the page.

    Responsive Grid Frameworks

It seems like we have a trend lately with the use (or overuse) of frameworks. Specifically, responsive frameworks like Bootstrap, or grid frameworks/generators. I was just wondering everyone's thoughts on them. For me, a responsive layout is way too easy to write to bother with them. Most of it...

    css question... I think

Ok, so I had to play a little and do some research, but you'll find what I believe you're looking for here: http://codepen.io/ronaldroe/pen/mjfpg Basically, once you scroll all the way to the bottom, where the sidebar is just above the footer, it disappears. It works like so: you use a...

    css question... I think

It'll be a bit of a guess, and it wouldn't be consistent across the pages. One other way you could try would be to get the height, in px of the page, subtract how far you want the trigger to happen from the bottom and set that variable as your height from the top, if that makes sense...

    css question... I think

There is no scrollBottom method. You'll have to add an else if and test for percentage from the top, ie 90%. Unfortunately, scrollTop can't use percent OOB, so you'll have to finagle it a bit. Here's a StackOverflow page on it...

    css question... I think

That would require javascript, which would change the value of the position property based on the distance the user has scrolled from the top.

They hired you to do the work, for which they'll pay. So, you do it, then add it to the invoice.

    html5 & CSS3?

It's a surprisingly simple technique called parallax. It uses CSS3 multiple backgrounds, set at varying positions with percentages to make the effect. Here's a snippet from a site I did recently that should help illustrate: body{ background:url('images/small.png') -30% top repeat-x...

why is spry collapsible panel breaking?

It's Spry. It's machine-generated, inflexible code. If the image size was off, even by a pixel, it could have easily caused it to break. Without even looking at it, I can tell you the likelihood is high that images aren't even necessary. This is why it's better to just code these things yourself.
