Website Logo - Image Type File Formats

Say hello to modernizr ;) If file download is a consideration, you can make a custom build that contains only feature detection for SVG, and concatenate that with other scripts.

    CPASchool.com - grandfathers website

Complete overhaul. Sorry. Don't mean to be rude, but that site looks like it's 15 years old.

    chrome vs. firefox diff

The jumping seems to have to do with the scale transform. I disabled it, and the jumping stopped.

    Responsive Design

Sass is incredibly handy, and I use it exclusively. I haven't tried Less, but IIRC, it's just a matter of different syntax. I prefer the SCSS format, which is essentially all the power of Sass, but it makes regular CSS perfectly valid SCSS code. And regarding this: I'll ask him what he...

Website Logo - Image Type File Formats

There are 2 other options here, at least regarding the logo: 1. That logo is just text. Use text with @font-face instead of an image. 2. Use svg. svg is a vector graphic that can resize to infinity and never be blurry. There are some compatibility considerations, but none that can't be remedied...

FED UP with Bluehost. What to do??

I've never had that problem with any of the hosting companies I've been with. The first 2 I left for other reasons, but here they are: IXWebhosting - Never had downtime, at least that I was aware of. Super crappy customer service. Webhostinghub - Great host. Never had downtime. Super awesome...

    Heading tags increase font size

Browser defaults do increase font size for header tags. They are also block level and bold.

    Client Mock Up

That's pretty much the complete reverse of what he needs to do.

website is in jpeg format?! how do i get my boss to listen?!?

No matter how you look at it, images in place of text, or in this case an entire site, are no good. How to get your boss to listen? I'm not sure. Let him know it's costing you potential clients/customers, it's probably breaking on some browsers and he got boned by the previous designer.

    Client Mock Up

The overall layout looks good and flows well. The color scheme works well, though it may be a little muted. The header, though is pretty underwhelming. Does the client have a logo they'll be using? Is there more you could put in there? If the answer to both of those are "no", consider making the...

    Responsive Design

I'd be willing to bet he'd disagree with you. However you go about it, responsive/adaptive design is more about creating an adaptive design than media queries. If you can accomplish it without them, that isn't a problem. I go with an "all of the above" approach, myself.

    Your opinion please!!!

What Ashe was saying is that the +1 button doesn't look like it belongs at all. It's just sitting there in the middle by itself. I have to be honest, it looks like you just used a template here.

Looking for a good book on CSS3

If you have a good grasp on level 2.1, there's no better way to learn level 3 than the spec: http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS/

why would you rather get payed to do a job than to earn more from your own efforts?

Brother, my heart goes out to you. Wow.

why would you rather get payed to do a job than to earn more from your own efforts?

The problem, IMHO is your approach. 2 things you need to understand: 1. You're coming to a forum, offering to build the next whatever, but you're not telling me what's in it for me. "Preserving what the internet is for" doesn't keep the bills paid. 2. You're using the same approach as thousands...

Difference between web hosting and web forwarding?

While I can't vouch for Wix, you generally have to get the domain registrar to release the domain, then you route it to the new nameservers at your new host.

    Website for review

The site itself isn't bad, in fact it's a pretty slick design, but there are a number of concerns here. First: What your analytics aren't telling you is that the majority of your visitors aren't browsing with the window maximized. In fact, most of them are seeing the buttons floating over the...

What are your concerns in developing a website for yourself?

Not so much a new format, but there is a new attribute for the img tag coming called src set. You'll manually create different sizes for your image and declare screen sizes for when each img size loads.
