    Here goes!

There won't be tutorials in Front Page per se. Companies make money putting tutorials together for it... but the help files are pretty extensive. Photoshop elements would be your graphics program. If you want a good one that has quite a bit of options for graphics editing and filters without...

    Your Thoughts, Please?

Well.... no, not exactly. It's different colors alright but thematically it still looks like a personal home page. here's a site I maintain pro bono: http://www.osdnashville.org . I don't consider myself a web designer at all and this is not exactly a business but a charity. However, it needs...

    Your Thoughts, Please?

Would it help if I say this? The site looks feminine and personal due to the colors used. A professional site would use gender neutral colors. The butterflies give it that personal home page look rather than a business look. Whether it's small or large business it still needs to look like a...

    My Freelancing Site

Mr. Bowers, The first time I ever had a site critqued it was, quite honestly, horrible. However, once the injured feelings began to subside, I took the criticism that was proffered and worked to better myself and my designs. I looked at your site, too, but refrained from commenting because I...

    Linux compatible?

Well, for one thing, he doesn't really need any mods right now. For another, I don't like modding forums so would probably turn him down. I hate being responsible for a forum's welfare, if that makes sense. I'm absolutely horrid at building up my own so what good would I be as a mod?

How high is the gas near you?

It's like that in the states, too. Big differences between one side of the country to the other.

    Linux compatible?

yup, but you can use php and mysql instead so it's really just a trade off.

How high is the gas near you?

I suppose our equivalent would be .60/liter although we don't count it as liters. I know what gasoline costs in Europe so I really don't understand how Americans can complain about gas prices in comparison... but they do it anyway. I suppose it's a matter of what you are used to since it has...

To me, it is. Others might have different ideas.

    How do I become...

I don't think looking like a huge pro necessarily makes one a good member. Most of the time I think those who come off as huge pros actually just have big egos to fluff. My opinion of what makes a good member is stepping in to help out where you have the knowledge, even if what you have to...

    Linux compatible?

Well, the short answer is that web pages aren't dependent on operating systems but on html and other web languages and scripting with some exceptions such as asp (windows). That being said, there's still a whole lot to say but more than can be accomplished in this forum.

Hi...I'm new to the Web forum although I've been

Well, the new is definitely an improvement on the old, but, as you said, there are a lot of consistency issues. I hope you have a lot of time to get this one ready and good luck with it. I'm not a professional designer either... just learn as I go. Your brain may be old but I bet if you just...

    Security

My preferred cms is Postnuke. I used pnphpBB2 which is an adaptation of phpBB2 made to work with Postnuke both of which are PHP. Both have excellent support forums and instructions for use. I'm pretty sure there are others but I'm quite satisfied with my results with these two working together...

    Security

well... having a one time log on is not hard to set up. I used a cms on Writing Wise then added a forum module... one registration fits all. However, using a log on requires a cookie to be placed on their computers for staying logged in forever. If they clean their caches every so often by...

where have all the good designers gone

is this a have to be travel to the office and work a full day's work for a full work week there kind of position? Not all freelancers are the same... it just takes some digging to find the really good ones. I know a lady who does a bang up job as her own business with a steady long term...

    javascript right click protection

for the right click disabling you can pick up a script at www.javascriptsource.com or www.dynamicdrive.com . I don't think you'll find a script to keep people from taking screenshots. Myself, I'd be more worried about people hotlinking to the stuff than whether they rip it off some other way.

new logo idea for my site

Yes, the text is not clear at all in a reduced size. That's what I was worried about. The rest of it still looks good though.
