    Sizing..again.

Forgot about the centering issue, thanks, SE. Dreamweaver MX has defaults that leaves spacing around cells, etc... they may be a problem when you are taking slices of a larger image to arrange in a table.. IIRC that's what he's doing.

How many of us from the States?

Take care, SiteExpress. We just got news today that one of the sisters who thought her house was gone miraculously found it still intact along with the small neighborhood where she lives while everything around them has been flattened. Husband's family I should say since I'm from further north...

    Photoshop or Fireworks?

Yes you can do the same things in photoshop that you can do in fireworks but you can't do all the things in fireworks that you can do in photoshop but as you have probably noted there is a huge price difference, too. However, there are third party filters that you can obtain to augment...

How many of us from the States?

Sorrry... but this hurricane thing is uppermost in my mind right now. I have family there, all survived physically, but a lot of damage and several are homeless now. My good thoughts, wishes, and hope for survival to all affected by this.

    Sizing..again.

ok, you can't find a spacer.gif anywhere.. there are lots of ways this could happen. Your cell sizes aren't set to absolute sizes in width and height. There is an actual space inside the cell. In your code look for  . Setting absolute sizes don't necessarily mean that's what you get...

    Criteria for Critique

I think we all have different criteria according to what's important to us. Myself, I don't look at choice of colors, etc... those are aesthetic and personal choices. While aesthetics can be rather important it's more in the realm of how colors are put together to make the whole rather than what...

Websites that bite with shopping carts

Well, instead of detaching yourself from your ideas... why not separate them as they really are separate entities. I can see that you have varied interests which is not a bad thing but lumping them together can be. I have varied interests myself but i tend to keep them separate. However, focus...

Websites that bite with shopping carts

Wow, Rob... One of the things you don't do too much of is read sites. I didn't know you designed sites, too. I have one more suggestion to make in that case. Lose the Google ads. For one thing, what they advertise might not be very conducive to other business. In addition they take up so much of...

    Yet another website for review!

Well, the biggest thing I can see is the text. It's all bolded and large. Why not make it smaller?... not very small but more a normal size and less bolding. Bold only the headings. It would tighten the page up. The large text makes the page rather loose and long.

    Template2.net

Membership sign up ... membership is spelled wrong... I'm sure it's a typo but... I would switch places with the top links and the logo... It would separate the skewed boxes from the skewed angles below them. Then you could get rid of that line you have seperating things to pull your content...

alternative rock band website (by a newbie)

One of your band members' pics is not linked correctly. I got a page not found. I agree with ian, the page needs to be centered... let Yahoo or the browser push it to whatever looks center on users' computers.. otherwise, like ian... i think it looks nice.

    Cheapest WebHosting

I am giving you advice of: please post this in the proper forum. this one is for web design, not web hosting. Further it belongs in the offers section since it is an advertisement.

    new site - feedback please

Other than what ian said, i don't like the yellow background... I would say almost any color but the one you've got,but i suppose there are some worse out there. even another shade of yellow might work but that one just dulls an otherwise nice looking site.

    Photo Galleries and templates

I hear good things about Coppermine... they usually set up with their own templates but you can change the html to add your own graphics, colors, etc to integrate with your site.

    How to Centre a 800 x 600 website?

<table width="744" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> Of course you will have at least one set of <tr> and <td> in here, too, but this is how you center it.</table>

    Creativewebslave.com (my site)

That leaves a broad area for choosing hosting... not sure how many will move the site for you however. You could look at some of the ones that have put in offer posts here as a start then check them out as far as reliability, length of time in business, and so on. I don't have anything in the...
