    Dauntingness

It gets easier as you go along, but if it weren't difficult, I'd have quit out of boredom a long time ago.

New Web Designer and Associate Graduate (AS) - looking for critiques.

People don't generally get flamed randomly. It happens because they've either gotten overly defensive when someone didn't validate their need for an ego boost or they've tried to pass off someone else's work as their own. Since you openly admit you started with a template, you'll likely get the...

Help wanted need a website quickly

Fast, good, cheap. You can only pick 2. If someone promises you otherwise, they're a liar or their idea of "good" is very different from everyone else's.

You can also use Creative Commons or Wiki Commons. The quality isn't always great, but it's free.

how to add photos to horizontal scroll?

Like Phreadee said, there should be a jQuery plugin. If I could impress upon you, from a design aspect, make all of the images the same size. If you do something like what you're wanting, and aren't very careful to do it right, it'll look like a giant pile of ass.

I'm a hateful, intolerant jerk, what do you expect? ;)

    Internet Pet Peeve

My biggest pet peeve? These idiots who come to web design forums and ask questions, or ask for opinions on their design or anything they've done and automatically label any negative response as either hate or intolerance of beginners. You know, like this guy...

    Favorite CMS Script?

Try FreeCMS or CushyCMS. You just drop a class in the editable areas and they log in and make changes.

    Weird/Difficult Question

If you're averse to using a CMS at this point, there are a number of other options. You could use php includes. You would change the file extension of your html files to .php. Then, you just put the text in its own file and include this little bit in all of your pages where you want the content...

    Responsive design breakpoints

Probably my favorite blog. The way the search slides across has always interested me. He explains it in a video. Oddly, it's just a simple CSS3 transition.

    Responsive design breakpoints

Those look good. Smart determining the queries before hand and designing around them. I generally build out the site and code them based on how it reacts to different sizes. The only suggestion I have is that you may want to: 1. Add another between 960 and 480. That's a lot of width you're...

    please check out my site

www.diamond57.com The best of the 3, but still crap. The background and overall color scheme aren't bad. The worst thing about it? On a 1366px wide monitor, I still have to scroll sideways a good bit to see the right side of the page. Want more reasons to hate it? Take a look at the code. They...
