    Raising the Navigational Bar

Mark, You seem to be having problems fairly often on this website. I seem to remember helping you with it a couple times before, and it's usually a positioning thing. Is it possible that you've used negative values elsewhere and it has caused the very problems you're asking about? Chris...

    positioning ap divs

You wouldn't use AP divs. You'd use position:fixed.

How can I change the id in javascript?

You can still do what you're wanting to do using a class instead of an ID. It seems like you're going with the ID because it's used only once on the page. The "ID if it's used once, class if used more than once" isn't really a rule. Not for CSS anyway. ID's used only once on a page is an HTML...

How can I change the id in javascript?

Forked ya. I used jQuery's .attr() function to change the ID when you click the button. You could also use .toggle() instead of .click(), and add a second function to turn back to red when it's clicked again.

    please help

That is the essence of design. You need to figure out what works in this situation. Do you need more info? Maybe, but you should first organize the info you have. "Keep it simple" refers more to the design and layout of the page. Find out what people want to know, and give them that right up...

Attempting to develop a professional website

What everyone here is trying to tell you is that there is more to building out professional sites than just the way it looks. Any idiot can make a site that looks good. That's why there's a market for WYSIWYG. But a site that works good, that responds to the size it's viewed at, that provides...

    Best Web Design Software

Unless there's some backend admin stuff that I'm unaware of, that would be a whole lot of work for very little gain. Truth be told, this thread has been around since Aug 2004. If I had to guess, I'd say people probably generally discover it through search engines while trying to find out what...

Content is spilling out of the Div

There are a number of ways to center your site, depending on how your site is built. As long as what you're trying to center has a defined width (% or px both work), you can just add margin:0 auto; to your css for that element.

What do you think of LinkedIn??

It's been around a while. I have an account that I have logged in to exactly twice, plus an app on my phone I have never used. Does nothing for me

Added the viewport meta tag to constrain it to the mobile device width. Now, I just need to add some media queries to make the content work better for mobile.

    Check it out

Just checked it out on my Android. You weren't kidding. It doesn't like it at all. Thanks for the heads up. To be fair, I haven't even begun coding for mobile yet, and there's not one media query in there. Right now, it's just a fluid desktop design. Any iOS users out there care to give it a...

Yeah, I mentioned that a few posts up. It's ok, though. The few that see it might appreciate it, I now have an example of it in my portfolio, and I have a proof of concept that I can use in a more practical situation. Like, say putting it on the y axis so it happens as they scroll down the page...
