Special fonts

Is there a way to put uncommon font files in the same folder at the html file and reference the file to display the fonts or am I limited to sticking with whatever the common fonts there are?

Yes you can and yes you are limited. There are multiple ways to do this. @font-face sounds closest to what you want. http://www.alistapart.com/articles/cssatten

Support for it is uncommon. Most people end up using siFR (which I don't dig because it's resource heavy) or creating images for the text using the PHP GD library
