Web Design Questions

Hello,

I am interested in getting an education in web design and I thought this would be a good place to ask a few questions that I have.

My first question is about the website GamesRadar.com(http://www.gamesradar.com/). What kind of content management system are they using? Is it Joomla or Magento or some other custom or commercial content management software?

My second question is about schooling. What type of schooling/education would I need to acquire to learn how to create a website that is similar to GamesRadar's website?

I dont see any indication of what CMS they might have used layout does look a lot like joomla rocket themes. There is a lot of information about html/xhtml/css/php/xml and a lot of diffrent types of languages to write websites in w3schools is the foremost authority and they have lots of tutorials.

Looks like a custom made website,

ofcourse a CMS based design.

To create a site like choose scripting technology u prefer.

ASP.NET OR PHP

Database

ms sqlsever or mysql server

any database can work with both asp.net or php.

I cannot say the schooling, but this is the path u have to follow, if you want to build the site all by yourself

1. HTML
2. CSS
3. JAVASCRIPT ( NOT MUCH REQUIRED)
4. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP(required to build website layouts)
4. Flash( just the basics)

and then importantly

5. ASP.NET OR PHP
6. MS SQL SERVER

if you are good with sql server, you can work on mysql server

IF I WERE U i will choose asp.net C#

bit of advice, donot overlook HTML AND CSS... they are the foundation.
