Rollover gradient button help

Hi there,

I am folling a tutorial is making rollever gradient buttons and Im having trouble doing a certain part.
The instruction says to select fram one of layer 2 which is inside the button movie clip, and change the colour to alpha at 0%. But there is no option for alpha when I select it, but only when I come out of the movie clip there is. But when I apply that then the two images of the same button (the idle and rollover image) become transparent.
What am I doing wrong? Here are two screenshots.

and I dont see any option for changing to alpha in the properties panel here, like the instruction says!

Click on the object and press F8, on that screen name it whatever and select...um, i cant remember what it's called. Graphics something (its the one that ISNT Movie Clip or Button).

When it's a graphic symbol (?), it should have the alpha.

Also, you might want to tween, otherwise it doesnt fade. to tween, click on the frame in the timeline and say "Create motion tween"

Thanks a million Artoonie! I was wondering where the hell I was going wrong.
Very confusing tutorial. Im finding flash a very confusing program to work with.
If only it could all be done in Adobe ImageReady.
