I want to make a website that view videos, something similar to youtube or other video showing websites. Does anyone know what books I need to read and what software I would need to learn how to make one as good as youtube or cnn?

No need to buy a book, everything is online for free: W3 Schools. Although, you should read the Bible, Romans 5:4. Something about patience and perseverance... .

Not necessarily.

Especially if you just purchase (or find a free) CMS theme ready to go. May as well not re-invent the wheel particularly if a) you don't have to and b) you are new to the game!

We don't all have to write it in notepad hehe ;P

True. But even copied wheels often come out oval-shaped, without decent knowledge of HTML and CSS, if you know what I mean...
