HTML Insite text editor

We are looking for an insite text editor that the user can use, much like the editor used here in the forum when posting. We would like one that we can download and run from our server.

We currently use nicedit, but its one that has to go out and hit another site, which means we are subject to anything they change. We've tried downloading their version, but they have no support and we cant get the download version to work.

Does anyone have some suggestions of other editors?

for what do you need them? and were and how did you implement them? Are you sure that a content managing system wont work for you?

Likes like you are looking for a WYSIWYG editor like TinyMCE.

It just hooks onto a text area and transforms it into what you need.
