well you understand the Google algorithm in a wrong way .it would not only rank your site based on back links .these are many other factor as well but you can say back link would be the biggest factor to improve your rankings.Yahoo need some to to give you some traffic .It would prefer old site more for first page ranking .Bing would be the easiest search engines to rank for.Just start to build with your targeted keyword and you would start to see some traffic from bing easily based on the completion as well
fincylaila is right is not all about back links even if they are the most important factor in SEO, All search engines like backlinks but there are a lot of things more that are important to get good rankings on any search engine.
I've read somewhere that Yahoo and Bing likes quality content. They also give value to site authority. The older the domain, the better their ranking will be.
Yahoo and Bing requires that you place your targeted keyword on your URL, your meta tags and most importantly that you have a keyword density between 2-7%. You will need to do your onpage optimization better if you want to rank on Bing and Yahoo.
I'm not sure about everyone else but for the sites I work on - I do well in Google, to a lesser degree Yahoo but I can't hardly get Bing to even index the sites. I'm not sure if it's the algo or if they just have fewer resources to spider and index?
I wouldn't say that there is a big difference in how any of the big three SE rank sites. I think that inbound links are key, but not all inbound links count the same. Also all three seem to be pretty hot on detecting spam now-a-days.
Yahoo and Bing don't have PR systems, Google Rank based on the quality back link, content and optimization parts while Yahoo and Bing depends on the back link. So I think they rank a site base on back links and your pages.
