How would you spice it up ?

I'm nearing the completion of my little weblog.

I'm turning to the experts to see what's wrong and if/how they would spice it up a little (i'm afraid to use colors so...i'd rather hear from you first )

perhaps some type of watermark or bg pattern (gradient?) for the top?

I think overall, it looks quite nice. Maybe a little to dark and a little to gray. I would suggest experimenting with a light gradient on the background. Perhaps even adding a bit of color. Just something the break up the monotony a bit.

Play with color. Literally add the color of spice to spice it up. Or some other color you fancy. Other than needing a bit more spice, it's a nice look. Good work!
