How much should I charge for Social Media Marketing?

I suggested to my client that he should integrate Social Media tools into his website. I like “AddThis” sharing platform http://www.addthis.com. I also like the idea of using http://hootsuite.com.

My client does not use Social Media for personal or business use. They do have interest integrating it into the site but they have no interest in updating anything.

My question. I’m a web designer that would normally look to someone else to handle the Social Media Marketing of a site that I design.

However, my client just wants to post comments, updates, photos, etc. to Twitter and Facebook. I can do that no problem but I have no idea what to charge.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks for your advice.

I would go with your normal hourly rate and just tot up the hours you spend on it. But I would also make clear to the client that this isn't your area of expertise and they shouldn't expect miracles from you. If they can't be bothered to do it themselves and really committ to it then they can't expect great results...

Through social media you can quickly build a network of core supporters, which is essential for any up and coming business to keep growing and expanding. It is that group of loyal followers that will keep bringing your company business and referring it to others if they are pleased with what they are finding.
