I’m building a personal blog and want a vps hosting plan that’s beginner-friendly and secure.
Any information on GTHost.com vps hosting solutions? Good or bad? Would love to hear what hosts you’ve had good luck with.

How large is your website and what are its storage needs?
You need to widen your search to compare pricing and features with few more providers:
1) Exmasters.com
2) Regvps.com
3) Bacloud.com
I've found them to be the best host for support, advice, and pricing out of several hosts I have ever seen before.
