ecommerce bling

I am helping a friend set up an online eCommerce side.

In order for it to be successful and in order to actually make sales, I think there needs to be something on the web site that gives the buyer confidence that we are on the level and legitimate.

The thing I have noticed on other web sites is an icon from the BBB (Better Business Bureau). But, in the past, I have seen others (when I was not paying attention because I thought I would not have to later think about it.

Can anyone suggest others?

None that anyone is likely to pay attention to UNLESS it issues a warning to say that it isn't and WHO is going to have something like that on their site by choice?
Even valid SSL certificates are cheap enough to not make a significant dent in scammers profit margins

The BBB is a toothless dog even in the United States which is the only place they have any kind of influence.

ANY ONE can put an icon or statement on their pages to declare it is "approved safe by ........ " and in all probability nobody would ever know it is NOT genuine.
