converting small english site to german

Hi guys.

I need to reproduce a small english website into german. All the content text will be provided to me , but can anyone please tell me how I go about using a german character set ?

I have been googling but cant find anything vaguely like what I need. And i am absolutely clueless as to where to start to make this happen.

Most of the characters n German are same as English.

So I think you can use English language too. but anyways for

German use lang="de"
