Can i enhance this 5mb sample?

I had a wesite designed and wanted to put three one minute video samples of on motorbike footage onto the site. My web designer( friend who is new to web design) said i should keep them under 5mb each which i did. I sent him the samples in .wmv format, and I dont think he did anything to them before he placed them on the website- is this wrong? I dont think they look that good, is there anyway i can enhance them? I could send someone one of the samples through 'YouSendIt' in .avi and maybe you might be able to let me know if the quality could be improved? thanks

There are ways and ways to cut down on the file size and not lose too much of the quality. Unless they need to be streaming, what I'd suggest is if your friend has Flash, send him the avi files and let him import them into Flash. Flash has all kinds of settings for getting the best quality video without the huge file size. Some others might have different better suggestions so give it some time for them to answer.
