The plugin loads an instant of Acrobat over the top of the browser, so ignores Css. so the PDF isnt actually in the iframe. it just occupies the same space as the iframe, but sitting on top and ignoring css. its really starting to annoy me

Yes. but because the PDF loads the acrobat plugin, it sits outside the realms of css. it really is annoying....

is the file being used by any other application? what is the error message?

First up, its good. just a couple of things... maybe move the contact info into the empty space on the titlebar. this would help with the spacing in the content area as well. also there is something about the navigation that don't sit right with me... maybe add 2x 1px spacer to the top and...

The way I do it is to think of it in layers... going backwards from the screen......like looking down on a stack. start at the bottom and work forwards as to what you see... don't move up until you get the layer you are working on right... think of each element of the design as a seperate...

looks good for a first try. maybe using subtle gradients would help, like on the Navigation bar. that and centre the text. also maybe add a 1pixel line between links it should be about the height of the text, not the whole navigation/menu bar.

I should clerify that I would also accept anything that gets the sub-menu to load over the top of the PDF when it is being viewed. I tried having an empty iframe as a buffer, but it prevented the buttons from being clicked. anyhelp would be welcome
