First off, call it by it's
correct term and you will begin understand it a little better. It is
Advertising or
Promotion.
There is no such thing as off-page "optimisation", one can ONLY 'optimise' something you can directly control.
Secondly; Stop thinking in terms of 'traffic'. Traffic all on it's own is useless. It serves NO purpose other than to waste server resources and data transfer. What the vast majority of pages need is
qualified traffic, which means visitors that are already prepared to purchase or otherwise avail themselves of your service.

You should ALSO learn to word your advertising links better. The one you have here in your signature is just the usual "key" worded link drop, which is not particularly successful or useful for anyone. Your
anchor text is also your 'call to action' so you would be better off using;
"

In that one short sentence, you give the reader a leading or rhetorical question AND give them the answer that
they expect plus
telling them precisely what to do next.
'Power' Advertising is the same no matter what the medium or the topic is.

Get over the idea of 'key' words, 'key' words, 'key' words, and think customer, customer, customer instead.
There is a book available called "Don't Make Me Think" written by Steve Krug ... BUY IT and READ IT thoroughly, a second book that you should also have in your personal library is "Marketing in the Age of Google" written by Vanessa Fox who worked for Google on "Webmaster Central"
Read them both and learn from people who know what they are talking about, rather than listening to Internet "experts"
