Recently I contacted Hostgator.com customer support and they explained me smth about an error, but I don't understand nothing.
My web site doesn't work for 5 days. I'm loosing clients. Please recommend me a good web hosting provider for running vBulletin forums.

I guess that VPS (35gbs of hard disk, 1 gb of RAM and 500 gbs of bandwidth) is quite good enough for this.
So, what reliable VPS hosting providers do you know?

Hostgator is a fairly large Web hosting company. While there are a lot of better ones out there, I would take the time to understand the nature of the error that they have told you about and try and determine if the problem is with your vbulletin setup for which they are not technically responsible or whether the problem is with the actual Web hosting. I usually check the companys twitter feed to see if other people are complaining of outages. Perhaps post on the vbulletin forums,, because if you transfer elsewhere, you may encounter the same problems.
I don't think a vbulletin forum that only required 1gb of ram would use 500gb of bandwidth.

Sure but based on your first post it would appear that you don't know enough about running a VPS, 'cause if you did you wouldn't have to rely on often "spotty" support from the provider to get the website back up, maybe you should be thinking about a "reseller" account where you are the only 'client'. With that you will have a control panel to manage what you need, and anything more "techy" gets done by the server provider staff. Even though I look after three VM for company clients, I run my own stuff on a "premium" account from 2freeHosting (the tax office can't claim it is a 'perk' then :) )
