A javascript "alert" is a modal dialogue that stops processing in the document until a user response is received. so if you interrupt the rendering odd things are likely to occur

Use a redirect rather than an alert.

Alright, I'll work on that later on, right now I am hitting the sack. It's been a long day for me.

I really do hate Internet Explorer. Chrome is by far the best browser I've experienced thus far and I have used different versions of IE, FireFox and Safari.

So I switched over to CSS error boxes. Works way better, now moving on to a new problem that has occured. New thread opened since it deals with Javascript.
