What DO You Need to Learn?

There are always a lot of questions here like, "what should I be learning", or "what language should I learn next?".

Dutifully, the more experienced among us tell them the same answers every time. There's nothing wrong with that. It's what, in part the forum is for.

I've always kind of felt there was a better answer I should be giving, but couldn't quite figure out how to put it into words, until I came across this, which pretty much sums it up.

Just. Build. Websites.

I kinda agree with you. I only think when you are going to build the website, do some serious research about the best way to show and make your website..for example don't go learn flash just to build your cool foto-slider..You need to know what is important to learn and what isnt.

So guys just go build things, but do the research!

I see where you're going with that, but I think it leads us to a better set of questions. Instead of, "what should I learn", it would be more like, "how do I make this".
