Website Visitors' Counter: How To Do

Hello My Friends,

I am currently working on a website for a church. Lately, I have thoght about adding a counter at the bottom of the web-page that tells the viewer how many people have viewed the page before him/her.

My problem here is this:
I don't know if this is the work oh PHP or Javascript. If it is, Is there anywhere i can get the codes and add them to me website?

Whoa! Its not 1998 anymore.
Users dont care, as if its too high it looks unrealistic, if its too low, it devalues the site.
Set up a google analytics account for them. Traffic numbers are only useful for the client, not the user...

You are absolutely right, Phreaddee... However, here is a link to a site where you can get a free hit counter. If you expect heavy traffic you probably want a dedicated statistic program from your hosting provider.
