Hiya! I came here from a google search for no other purpose than to ask for some tips for the design of my new site www.upcomingcons.com. Obviously I don't want it too look like all of the hundreds of other websites out there (For example, I could round all the corners of each of the four boxes and add 3D shading... but then it gets even more like any other site), but any suggestions you have would be wonderful and helpful! Thanks!

First of all, I like your username.

As for the site, keep a watch on your color contrasting. White text on light blue is difficult to control the experience of all viewers color perceptions.

Thank you. I made any white text in the large column bold and brighter, so now it contrasts a bunch more. I also reformatted the listings. Any other tips? I still feel just a little unoriginal... but I'm not a terrific graphic designer, heh.
