Suggestions welcome on my site...

Hey, so I have finished the basics of a website... http://www.yawonder.com

Its a constructive criticism/comments website for anything from yourself to cars, etc. I hand coded the site, but I am not that good at layouts and colors. Do you have any suggestions on it? Also how would you go about making it known about? Thanks very much!! Scott

Congrats on coding your first Web site!

My comments...
I would loose the slash effect in the white boxes it makes the text harder to read. And I would eliminate the top box on the right "YaWonder = Safe+Free..." and put the content in the right of the header bar at the top. Do you have a image rendering program like Photoshop? You could make a few simple gradients for that header bar and make it stand out a little more? I am not a fan of purple either, a dark blue would be better but that is just a personal preference.

As far as marketing it...are you familiar with using keywords and META tags? I would start with that first. If not there are plenty of users in this forum that can help you including myself.

It's a cool concept, but I'm not feeling the design, colors and what not. For this site, the colors you are needing that will keep your visitors there, are blue and green. Blue is trusting and loyal and green is soothing and comforting.
