A late comer to the party perhaps, but I've just started using rem's and love it. much easier than em and inheritance and much more flexible than px.

Anyone had any quirks they'd like to share pertaining to it's use?

It appears pretty well supported aside from the usual suspects ...and opera.

Opera 11.6 onwards does support the rem unit.

Used them on my last project, as well as my upcoming redesign. So much easier. Fallback is pretty easy as well. Just define in px, followed by redefine in rem. If you're using SASS, you can easily write a mixin to handle both.
