Problem help please

I can do basic HTML and drag and drop web design using FrontPage etc but I have an idea that requires something more complicated.

I want to have a column of buttons on the screen linked to a numberical value and for them to be sorted in terms of the highest number linked to them. Then, when people click on one of them and go to either ebay or paypal and make a payment, I want to add the amount of money paid to the numerical value of the button they clicked, thereby increasing that button's numerical value and moving it up the list.

How can all this be automated and what sort of job is it - something I could easily learn or would someone need to set it up for me?

I don't understand, exactly as you've put it, but i'm guessing that PHP may have an answer for your needs....does your server handle php? if so try to do some searches for php scripts, php tutorials, etc.. I do know that some type of server side script would have to be used to accomplish what you want. If your server doesn't process php, maybe you could use asp? check in to it, php is quite easy to learn the basics of, and what you want to do doesn't sound all that hard.
