Hi everyone,
I have searched high and low for a photo gallery software to work and have not been successful. I found your forum, so I hope some of you can point me in the right direction.
I am looking for what I thought would be a simple photo gallery. I assume it will need to be database driven, but I may be wrong. Here is what I am looking for:
A photo gallery software for my website (or even hosted elsewhere and embedded into my site) that will allow me to do several things:
1. Create galleries in different sections of the website (Events gallery, projects gallery, board members gallery, etc)
2. Create multiple galleries per page (possibly considered sub galleries). For instance, on the “Events” page, we will need to have a gallery for each event (fund raiser 1, funder raiser 2, etc) with a thumbnail on the “Events” page to represent each event gallery. Visitors will click on that single thumbnail to go to the specific event gallery with multiple pictures.
Displaying thumbnails of galleries seems to be a problem for some and not for others.
3. The gallery description needs to appear next to the thumbnail. For instance, on the “Events” page we would show a thumbnail of Fund Raiser 1 and the description beside it would say something like “We held Fund Raiser 1 at Blackburn Park on June 5th. We raise $1,250 by selling lunches and washing cars. This money will be used to provide equipment to blind students at Bay Minette Elementary School.”
These descriptions being displayed seems to be one of the harder features to find.
4. I need it to be easy to upload new galleries and descriptions so that several people will be able to add galleries to the website with NO web design experience. Since several people need to be able to add galleries, it needs to have a web based administration panel. This feature will be great, but not a deal breaker. Features 1-3 are more important than having the ability for multiple people to edit the galleries with a web based application.
I am not having any luck finding it, but there are so many out there that it is hard to look through them all. Hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction. I am volunteering to help a non-profit set this up, so a free or low cost solution is necessary.
Thank you for your help!
