Hi all,

does anyone here use Parallels Desktop? I have a G5 mac book pro running Parallels Desktop 3.0. I use this to create a virtual PC (running windows XP)on my mac. It was working great until this weekend when I installed an update and now windows "blue screens" everytime I login. Ever had this problem? If so how did you solve it?

Thanks.

Windows can get buggy. This just happens once in a while, no matter how you you launch Windows.

Is it possible to just try a reinstall?

I use parallels, and never had this problem(using XP).

Yeah I think the best option is to rebuild the virtual machine. I am condsidering moving up to Vista, but XP I hear is more solid and teh GUI is not as heavy on the memory (especially imprtant being this is a virtaul machine). Thoughts? Do run desktop 3.0 or the new 4.0?

I'm not sure that an upgrade to 4.0 is necessary. Try reinstalling first.

I've heard so many times that XP is more solid than Vista, but I'm not sure. Vista has a strong list of complaints, but I'm beginning to think that most of these complaints are made by people who don't know how to use computers properly. Many of the more "nerdy" people that I've went to college with have loved Vista, while many idiots than I know tend to hate it. I think Vista is just not hospitable to non-technical people.
