Hello all, first time poster, but long time reader. I absolutely love reading this forum.

I am hoping I can have some help to direct me in the right way. I am making a site for my friend. The site domain is already purchased, I already have a hosting plan, but my question is about design. He found a site that he loves, which is located here.. www.draytonmanor.co.uk. He loves the layout, and loves some the colors (I'd be changing a few colors around). Basically all I need to do is obviously change photos, logos, etc, to make it our own. Please bear in mind, I am a complete newbie to this. Is there any way I can copy and paste that site into Dreamweaver? I got the HTML from that site, and copied the HTML into Dreamweaver as a start for me, but nothing carries over except plain text.

Please pardon my ignorance, but is there any way to get that website into Dreamweaver? Any help would be greatly appreciated on where to start with this.

Thanks again.

Look into CSS

Are you familiar with CSS? CSS is what adds a lot of the styling to a web page. You'll see towards the top of the html file:

HTML:
<link href="/Includes/CSS/UndoHtml.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" />
<link href="/Includes/CSS/Common.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen, projection" />
<link href="/Includes/CSS/print.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="print" />
<link href="/Includes/CSS/Dev.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />

These files contain the CSS code that styles the web page. The html that you copied is missing the styling that gives the page its color, layout, fonts etc. Check http://w3schools.com/css/default.asp, or search for CSS tutorials on the web. After you learn a bit about that you'll understand why the page looks the way it does and how you can get it to look the way you want.
