There shouldn't be many flash things floating around, you need to organize your header and give it structure to your website.

The images at the top look low quality ( low res)

I think you should re- design the entire header and navigation bars.

Though 50kb+ for an index page is a bit hefty.

Layout looks nice, shame it uses tables, bit old skool these days.

There is definitely a lot of stuff on that site. I guess that is ok since it is informational. Just seems a little busy, but then again I have designed busy sites myself so I can't really speak.
