Anyone know of a modem emulator or similar program that i can use to slow my connection down so i can test sites under modem speeds? Without using a modem...

Thanks,

i don't know about modem simulators but I do know that both Frontpage and Dreamweaver allow you to set modem speeds in general settings and will reflect load times for the page at those settings. If you have either one of those, you're set. There may be other HTML editors that will do the same but I work with those two most of the time.

Thanks

Actually need to find a way to slow down my connection. Working on a online app and I need to feel how it runs at slow speeds..

Not sure of any applications to do that, I have always relied on the speed information listed on the web editing software that stephanie mentioned.
It tells you how many seconds a page should take to load with a 56k modem.

One thing to keep in mind when using the displayed load times (at least for FP) is that it doesn't take into consideration any server-side activity such as with ASP.

Someone else on another board also suggested WinGate. I'll give that a try and post results if any.
