Master pages/Framework/Templates

Hello everyone.

Just found this forum and registered. I have a few sites I need to develop as I am transitioning from back-end to front-end programming. I need some help with suggestions on how to make a consistent framework around my content-pages.

The only one I know about is the master pages I've used in Visual Studio and ASP.NET. But there should be several ways to create a consistent framework around your content pages no?

I saw in Dreamweaver (which I am currently learning) that there were some templates and editable regions that could be used. Any good?

I'd like the simplest form of using my own templates so I don't have to redo my framework for each webpage.

All tips and suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks.

I would suggest something else, if you'll allow me. I would learn HTML and CSS (and the include function of PHP or ASP) and make my own layouts, if I were you. If you start with http://w3schools.com and go through the four tutorials on my signature page as needed, you'll have a decent manual coding level in no-time, with your background.

Bit more work, much more satisfaction.

Hi Frank.

Thanks for the suggestions. But it is not an option to go with php or classic asp. I was wondering what other choices were out there?

But it seems I will have to use master pages in asp.net then.

Thanks.
