Learning CSS - how to make the first letter of every line bold?

I have an unordered list in which I want to make the first letter of every line bold, eg:

• One
• Two
• Three

How do I do this? I have tried a few things but am going around in circles. A fresh perspective would be great
Or do I have to manually do it on each line of the HTML?
