I could use some help with my portfolio website!

I have just recently updated my graphic design portfolio website: www.brigetteidesign.com. I am a graphic designer, not a web designer, so putting this together and making it work in Dreamweaver was a bit of a hit-or-miss process for me. I know there are a few different problems, links that don't work, a broken image on the home page, but I just can't figure them out, no matter how many different things I try.

I would love to hear anyone's feedback on the design & layout - and of anyone can let me know the right way to format things so all of the links work, and how to fix that darned broken image, I would really appreciate the help! :) Thanks!

The site is very image heavy, but this is expected in a portfolio site. I do like the walk + run against hunger and the spice corner. Very cool. Very clean design.
Anyway, there are other images that contain simple text, the must read books for example. I suggest removing the text from image and making it actual text.

The layout of your site needs work, or more so a theme. The color choice is nice, but it just seems a little plain. Being that you have great skills in typography, why not try to implement that into the site design as well? the style of you headings, maybe drop caps in paragraphs, something like that.

My suggestion is to mock up a design in Photoshop, then show that to us. We can then give you pointers on what would work (or what would be better for the web) and help you turn it into html form.

I noticed in safari on the home page, there is a broken image resting above the logo. Its pushing the whole side bar down about 15 px. I like your work, esp the youtube speed drawing!!
