That depends on what type of websites you plan on taking in. Some websites require a lot less skill than other websites. You just have to be honest with them as to what you can and cannot do. For example, during the initial planning meeting, if they mention that they need a shopping cart feature and you don't know how to go about it, you have to tell them. If you can't do Flash, don't promise a Flash site, etc.

I've learned a lot through my first few experiences. I definitely put in way more hours than I had charged for because there is a learning curve.

Nevertheless, stay on top of them with payments. You can't be too trusting. You should demand a % upfront, because a lot of people will try to get a deal out of you whether you like it or not.
