I'm personally not familiar with using wordpress myself, however from what I gather, it seems you wish to showcase your coding skills without it actually being its own website, but more of an added image of sorts to the site, correct?
If this is the case, I'd imagine that you would be able to add a collapsable javascript function of sorts that could show the said coding results in the "image box". Sort of a code with in a code type deal?
