How to be a Web Designer

Hello everyone! I am a college student and my major is Network Aministrator, but I'm interested in Web Design and want to start it as my career when graduating, so can you tell me what knowledge do I need to be a good designer ?, Thanks in avanced

If you want to be a good web designer then at first you have to know a web design language like PHP or ASP and if you have graphic design knowledge then it will be added advantage for your career as a web designer.
