I've not messed with web design or mgt for several yrs now and I have some questions.

By fact of business, I'm being drug back in.

First off let me just state the obvious. I HATE FrontPage and pretty much anything else by MacroSlug. My job back then forced me to use FP while @ work, but @ home I had other options.

I'm looking for suggestions on sw for complete design from zero. Though it doesn't much matter these days, the server's apache.

I need sw that I can do my thing with and hopefully get back into the swing fairly quickly, but still have true quality.

btw, to date myself....... xtml was about to be a big thing when I got out. lol

Also, as this will be a mixed e-commerce / tech / support / etc. domain, I need to catch up on quite alot. Especially the e-commerce part. There are MANY more options these days and I want something that I can create and update from pc to server rather than strictly server edits. Any suggestions here?

Thanks for the suggestion. Borrowed DW installed machine and looks like a good base. Some extra code here and there is to be expected when letting a program build a page, but the post html edits are MUCH less than FP.
