godaddy to hostgator to wordpress somethings lost, help

I'm just getting back into webdesign...
so confused, advanced apologies if this is a super noob question.

Bought my domain through godaddy - the nameservers point to host gator,

I host with host gator and I run it through wordpress.
Now i forget, how do the 2 connect?

basically my site works if it's www.mysiteforexample.com.wordpress
but my site doesn't update at www.mysiteforexample.com

what am i forgetting?

Do not compromise what had been planned about for the web site just to meet the level of what can just be offered with the cheap web hosting package. Try to search for other cheap web hosting packages that offer the applications needed for the web site.

try wordpress.org rather than wordpress.com

technically if you are on wordpress.com you dont even need your host gator account, just go straght from godaddy to wordpress.

or download and install wordpress from wordpress.org on your hostgator account. then there will be no confusion!
