Full Screen CSS-Only layout advice?

hey forum,
Just wondering what dimensions you guys would save a background image like this as.. http://www.pizzaza.ca/nos-salons/espace_ambiance.php
Just using this site as an example (images are still great quality on my 1920).. This is a very popular style of design.. and now that I've seen it work well without flash or image scaling I am thinking about trying it.
Please share any experiences you have had with building a site like this.. good or bad.

Been seeing a lot of sites built on a similar concept lately. I suppose as long as it loads quick it works...

went through a few old posts today.. thought I'd update this one with the fact that I came across a project that worked really well with this layout.. I might even add a fullscreen/f11 button somewhere cause it's really pretty in actual fullscreen browsing. not live yet, but heres the production link:
