Dreamweaver & Frontpage Compatability

I use DW as my web authoring tool. Can the pages I create in DW be opened up and edited in FrontPage? Can myself, who uses DW, and a friend, who uses FrontPage, both make updates to pages while each uses different software? Or will bad things happen!?
