Direct editor of MySQL database?

When I was on Windows, I had a direct editor installed on my computer. I do not remember the name of it. What are some editors that can be used to work on my database?

You can use command line mysql or if it is on a cpanel server then you will automatically have phpmyadmin to use. You don't mention what platform this is on.
