I've got Paladin Pixels up and running, but each time I try to figure out what's wrong I get stuck. If anyone has any advice or tips, I'd greatly appreciate it. Seems when it comes to work for myself I go blank.

1 - the logo is very very ordinary and non-appealing

2 - the entire web design is very very ordinary and non-appealing

3 - the top designers section seems to be not so user friendly

hi alina,

i think your site has potential and you seem to have the skill to pull it off. i do think the logo could be a little stronger - paladin's were french warriors during middle-evil times correct? maybe, utilizing some imagery (fleur de lis?) that tied into french warriors, some bolder colors (deep red, black and maybe a gold accent) and a more refined font (i like trajan pro) could make that happen. this site has great color combinations.

i'm also not sure the purpose of the top designers section - maybe if you enlighten me I'll have more input on it.

the site does not appear to be centered but it does move? for the body of the site i'd like to see more layout style - the copy runs all the way across the page and doesn't feel exciting. maybe a two column layout here with some photos, news modules, etc. to break it up a bit.

I love the deep red and black idea, I wasn't sure what colors to go with because I didn't want to do the common blues and gold. The top designers section at the top was originally intended to be an image, but the file corrupted so I'm recreating it and that works as a place holder so the spot isn't necessarily empty.

I'll try a two column deal, see what I can do with that idea. It seems to make a little more design sense than what's up now. You've been extremely helpful, thank you very much.

It has no life, with the use of so little color.

Furthermore, I dislike the outer-glow effects on all the section of the site, looks amateur.

Zach, thanks for the help. I'm reworking the colors and I'll look into the shadowed edges and see if I can't do something a bit better.
