creating a form with dreamweaver

I want to create a web page with a form where the user can click a submit button to send information to an email address using dreamweaver. Can anyone tell me what I am supposed to type in the ACTION field? Do I need to contact my host for this information?

the "action" is where the form submits to. you will need a script to process the information and send it out. html is purely static and requires help from scripting languages such as php, asp or perl/cgi to complete dynamic tasks.

which language you decide to go with is up to you and the limitations of your host. your host might also already offer such a script for you to use. if not, make your way over to www.hotscripts.com and search for a formmailer that suites your needs.
