Browser Emulation

Hi All,

Im giong mad trying to get one of my sites to work correctly in all browsers, it looks fine on my version of internet explorer and firefox but when i access it on a friends computer using his version of internet explorer, gaps have appeared between the different <div> tags and some of the divs are now too tall with the backgrounds repeating.

is there any way of emulating older browsers such as IE 5 ect?

I thought either firefox or opera would do this but i cant find how to do it.

any help would be greatly appreciated,
