Hi everyone,
my question is probably so simple to most of you. But since i only have very, very limited HMTL knowledge its a enigma to me.
I want to create a battle calculator for a online game. Actually i did already create it in Excel, means i have all relevant formulas and "meat" ready to go.
What i am lacking is the idea on how to make it work in a HTML environment. I know i need some kind of scriptlanguage to get the formulas to work. And i have heard/ read about Javascript, PHP and ASP.Net - but i have no working knowledge on either of them.
Now what would be your suggestion on how to tackle this. Of course I know that i will need to learn the used language - i believe in learning by doing
To give you a better idea on how much input and calculation is needed.
The user will have to enter about 20 to 30 values (Numbers). Those need to be calculated with given values (in Excel i stored them in a hidden part) and various results (Win/Loose, TroopLoss) are to be returned.
I found something similar (for a different game) on the web. Not sure if i like the layout, but its exactly those kind of calculations that i am aiming for.

Any constructive advice and ideally a good link to get me started in the proposed language is really appreciated.
Thanks,
vn
